these last few days have brought a level of heat this area has never known before, ever... yesterday, the longest day of the year, was also the hottest day ever recorded for SLO-- a whopping and faint inducing 113 degrees (my car temperature gauge actually read 117 as we drove to Home Depot but 113 is what the news reported)... the day before was 107 and the day before that it was 104-- the 3 hottest days in a row ever to occur (and, lucky us, we have the chance to set the record with today's heat as well)... and there's no relief at night either-- it's only been dropping into the low 80's/high 70's before the sun comes up again
to give you an idea of how rare these ridiculous temps are, none of the homes in the area (including ours) has air conditioning so we all have to make do with fans... Corey even rigged up a shade contraption in our backyard so we could sit in the kiddy pool, but it's even too hot to do that
ugg, it's even too hot to touch my computer... 'scuse me while i go pass out in front of the fan

We had 100 degrees a week or so ago, but 113 OUCH! And no A/C. A lot of the homes in our area don't have air conditioning (they are older homes). Thankfully, the previous owner to our house put in central air!
The ice companies are doing lots of good business I'm sure!
