half-baked!

Today marks the halfway point in this pregnancy (20 weeks, or 5 months)-- we're halfway there to being a family of four!

James had his 19 month check-up last week and he's growing well-- he's even put on a little more weight than last time (35th %tile as compared to 25th %tile) but still weighs just under 25 pounds. Here are his latests stats:

Height: 33.25 inches (70th percentile)
Weight: 24.8 pounds (35th percentile-- but this was with clothes and a wet diaper)
Head: 48 cm (55th percentile)

Corey & I swear we hear sentences coming out of him sometimes-- still garbled and you really have to "squint" your ears to hear it but the sounds and inflections definitely mimic real words and concepts. Unbelievable! He combines some words to form short two-word sentences and is still enamored with trash trucks and trains (we run outside to see both whenever they come by). He also loves tractors (any and all construction equipment) and any time we drive by road construction he'll pipe up and say "more tractors!" as in "i want to see more tractors! find more tractors!"

James runs, kicks, jumps with both feet off the ground, throws balls, tries to hit balls with his bat, can catch a football (sometimes), and is working on somersaults. He loves to "read" and his attention span has grown so he can sit through real stories rather than the short little board books.

He loves babies (we hope that remains true when baby sister comes along!) and loves visiting with his baby cousin Ashlin (Kevin & Natalie's daughter who's a year younger than James). He just keeps growing and growing and is turning into such a little individual!
